How to read it

Start with the overall score

A higher score means the visible left and right sides align more closely in this photo.

Check the regions

Eyes, brows, nose, mouth, and jaw show where balance is strongest or where more variation appears.

Use the center line as context

The overlay helps show why a region scored the way it did.

FAQ

Facial symmetry questions

What does this face symmetry test measure?

It compares left and right facial landmarks to estimate how balanced your face appears in the photo you uploaded. The score reflects geometric alignment, not overall attractiveness.

What is a good symmetry score?

Higher scores indicate closer visible left–right alignment in the photo. The score is best used comparatively rather than as a universal standard. Tool ranges: 90–100 very balanced, 80–89 balanced, 70–79 moderate variation, below 70 more visible variation. These are tool ranges, not population percentiles.

Is facial asymmetry normal?

Yes. Small left–right differences are normal in human faces. Perfect symmetry is uncommon and not required for a face to look natural.

Why can symmetry results change between photos?

Pose, head tilt, expression, lighting, and camera angle all shift how symmetry appears. A neutral, front-facing photo gives the most stable reading.

What photo works best for a symmetry test?

Use a clear, front-facing photo with your face centered, even lighting, and a neutral expression. Heavy filters or extreme angles reduce reliability.

Is symmetry the same as attractiveness?

No. Symmetry is one geometry signal. Attractiveness pages combine balance, features, expression, and photo presentation with different weights and explanations.

Is my photo private?

Yes. Analysis runs locally in your browser. Your photo is not uploaded for this symmetry test.
